Thanks to generous support from the Sustainable Arts Foundation, AS220 is pleased to extend Sustainable Arts Foundation Parent Fellowships for a parents to attend the Spring 2020 session of Practice//Practice! We believe that it’s important to make this opportunity available to everyone and recognize that attending the program may pose significant challenges for participants with children.
The Sustainable Arts Foundation Parent Fellowship awardee may request tuition, childcare and travel and lodging. Applicants can expect to receive between $250 to $750 depending on need and fellowship demand.
Childcare:
Specific financial need for childcare should be expressed in the Fellowship application.
Transportation:
Parent Fellowship awardees may apply for funds to subsidize or cover the cost of ground and/or air transportation.
Lodging:
We are committed to helping traveling fellowship recipients find the right accommodations if they are traveling and wish to bring their families. AS220 works in partnership with the Dean Hotel, which is conveniently located directly adjacent to AS220’s Mercantile and Dreyfus buildings. The Dean offers guests of AS220 discounted rates and has a variety of rooms available including bunk bed rooms designed specifically for families. We are also available to assist in determining the best Airbnb options in safe and walkable neighborhoods suitable to their needs.
Meals:
Breakfast and lunch during each full day are included in the cost of tuition, as is the welcome dinner. Partners and families are welcome to join the group for meals at no extra cost.
Schedule Flexibility:
Practice//Practice also offers parents traveling with children and families flexibility. We will work with each fellowship recipient directly to indicate which sessions are core to the programs (not to be missed) and which are particularly family friendly (such as the art-making sessions).
